The Simpsons Movie

Yesterday Ryan and I braved the rainstorm and went to see The Simpsons Movie in Times Square. We went to the AMC in Times Square so that after the movie we could go to the Kwik-e-Mart (7/11 in disguise) and partake of their delicious “movie tie-in” doughnuts and squishees.

The movie was great. I was really looking forward to this movie, and it does not disappoint. It’s a great story, and very funny. I read several interesting articles about the making of the movie, in Vanity Fair and Entertainment Weekly, and I thought it was so interesting that part of why it took so long to make this movie is that Jim Brooks and Matt Groening wanted a contract where they would receive funds to commission the script to be written, but if they didn’t like it, they didn’t have to make the movie. That’s so cool. It finally took some guy at Fox to say that if Matt and Jim don’t want to make the movie, Fox shouldn’t either.

Anyway, here’s a picture of the doughnuts. I wanted to get a picture of the outside of the store, but it was pouring and I didn’t want to take out my camera. Maybe I’ll have to go back on a sunny day and get more of their delicious doughnuts.
